Downturn dashes Bangladeshis’ dreams

Every year an estimated 400,000 overrseas Bangladeshis send millions of dollars home to support their families. One favoured destination, Malaysia, says the economic downturn means local jobs need to go to local people.

Al Jazeera’s Nicolas Haque reports from Ghola, in the country’s north, as an overseas Bangladeshi returns from Malaysia, his hopes and dreams shattered.
